Well, I guess there's something to be said for not starting small. I knew that I was getting back into race season, and, well, now I have 8 races scheduled. You'd think that it would make sense to start out slowly and work my way up to a few races. You'd be wrong. With few exceptions, I'm going the trail racing route this summer, and I absolutely can't wait.
I signed up for the Western NH Trail Series which is only $85 for the entire series. I'll run with some friends and I'll get to see parts of New Hampshire that I never have before.
From that series:
- All Out Trail Run (6/23)
- Wicked Wildcat Wander (7/7)
- Frenzy in the Forest (7/21)
- Farnum Five.5 (9/15)
- Lost a Lot Trail Race (9/22)
I'm also doing the Exeter Trail Series (a 10-mile trail run) on 6/10, and the Race to the Top of Vermont on 8/26. Oh, and I'm doing the Harpoon 5-miler on 5/20.
It's going to be a full summer, but I'm ready to be racing again. I even did a nice little 6-mile trail run yesterday just slightly north of me. Six miles is longer than I have been running, but I seemed to do OK with it. I even managed to do a quick bike ride this morning because the weather is so gorgeous.
Here we go!
